The small stretch of coastline between Brisbane and the New South Wales border has been named "The Gold Coast". The beaches are world class and stretch for miles and miles. FAMILY FUN
The Gold Coast is packed with destinations for families to get maximum bang for their buck. If you are looking for a way to keep the kids busy all day there are a number of theme parks which offer rides, shows, movies, animal interactions and much much more. Most of the theme parks are located in the theme park district which is only a short 10 minute drive north on the highway in your car hire vehicle.
Wet 'n' Wild Water World is Australia's premier water theme park and is always adding to its stable of rides. The latest addition "Surfrider" is Australia's first wet coaster. Take the kids along, but be warned they may never want to leave! Once you do get them to leave chances are they will fall asleep in the back of one of our car rentals before you have even left the highway.
Dreamworld is the daddy of all the theme parks. It is home to the Big 6 thrill rides for the big kids, and it also has 16 rides for the little kids in a cartoon themed section of the park. But it's not just rides on offer, the Wildlife Experience let's kids get up close and personal with some native australian wildlife, the IMAX screen regularly shows kid friendly movies. With ample parking available you will have excuse not to go. The car rental will be safe in the car park while you treat the kids to a fun day out.
To really tire the kids out why not take them on an adventure to Adventure Parc? This park provides a wide range of activities that would make Indiana Jones proud. A trip to Adventure Parc will surely be a favourite with the adventurous and active kids big and small. This park is located outside the theme park district but the drive in your car hire vehicle to Mt Tamborine is beautiful and will make the day seem that much more special.
FUN WITH ANIMALS
Most kids love being taken to Sea World. With daily feeding shows, water-skiing shows, performing dolphin and sea lion shows, exhibits, acquariums you will most likely spend the entire day just taking it all in. Located close to the heart of the Gold Coast it is advisable to arrive as early in the day as possible. This will ensure your car hire vehicle will be safe on the theme park's premises while you are inside.
Currumbin Wildlife Sancturary is to wildlife what Sea World is to marine life. The main difference is that you can get up close and personal with the wild life here without getting wet. Kids love to cuddle the koalas, feed the wallabies and pet the baby animals. Staff are well trained and will make your visit enjoyable.
Paradise Country Aussie Farm is an entertaining and interactive Australiana farm where visitors can come and experience a taste of traditional Aussie farm life. The half-day farm tours include exciting displays of horsemanship by real stockmen, animal patting and feeding and much much more.
NATIONAL PARKS
The Springbrook National Park is close to the border between NSW and Qld, however you will be well rewarded if you decide to take one of our car rentals for a drive there. Natural Bridge is an unusal geological feature, it was created by water cascading through the roof of of a cave and today is home to a colony of glow worms that light up the cave after sunset. The park also provides a number of lookouts to take in the gorgeous view of the lush rainforest that dominate the landscape. In summer luminous fungi and fireflies are a popular draw card for tour groups.
The Green Mountains in Lamington National Park draws many visitors each year for it's waterfalls, widlife and walking tracks. There are a wide variety of walking tracks from 1 to 22 kms, which attracts a wide variety of visitors. A camping area allows visitors to stay overnight but campfires are strictly prohibited, so bring a fuel stove. A hugely popular attraction is the Treetop walk which will let you look out above the rainforest canopy. The park is 35km south of Conungra and the road is narrow and winding in places and unsuitable for caravans.
